I'm sorry.
In which Flint apologises to Kavi, again, and gains something to occupy himself for a while.

The moon is in the waning Half (Philodox) Moon phase (48% full).
The door to the first apartment is open and from within are the sounds of a massive hammer, or mallet, striking plaster and wood. The state of the floor as seen from the doorway suggests that this has been going on for some time. Once given a look inside, it's clear that almost all of the interior walls have been removed, including nearly all of the kitchen fixtures and cabinets.
Flint comes out of the stairwell, not dressed for going anywhere. Though he does have shoes on, at least, and then he makes his way through the hallway, carefully stepping around the piles of debris until he stands in the doorway of the apartment. "Kavi-rhya?" the cliath calls out.
One last strike of the mallet sounds before Kavi turns to face the younger galliard. With the massive hammer still in his right hand, his left arm swipes across his brow. "Hey," he says, though his voice is cooler than it is ordinarily.
"Hey. I… I." Flint takes a deep breath. "I just that— I promised, and that. I mean it. I'm sorry, because I. I… didn't mean, that. To. Last night." The breath is let out, and Flint glances at Kavi, then shuts up, tucking his hands slightly into his pockets.
Kavi watches Flint, brow furrowing as the boy speaks. He's silent, still, for a little after. Finally, he nods. "Okay," he says, and points at one of the piles just inside the apartment. "Take that downstairs?"
Flint nods, untucking his hands from his pockets. "Okay," Flint agrees, quietly, letting that be just about it on the subject. "Sure," Flint agrees, setting to work on it. Pieces are dragged out into the hallway, some carried, then into the elevator.
